Release date: May 9, 2025, Worldwide
Flyin’ Shoes features material from an aborted 1973 album titled 7 Come 11, finally released as The Nashville Sessions by Tomato in 1993. Townes picked up where he’d left off and several takes from 7 Come 11 were re-recorded for Flyin’ Shoes. Produced by the legendary Chips Moman at Nashville’s American Studios, this album contains some of the Texas troubadour’s strongest songs. The rolling country of ‘Loretta’, the tough yet melancholy ‘No Place To Fall’, the brilliant mystic fug of the title track and the distinguished likes of ‘Rex’s Blues’ and ‘Pueblo Waltz’ make Flyin’ Shoes one of the most critically acclaimed sets by Townes Van Zandt.
