Alongside Joy Division, The Durutti Column were among the first artists signed to Factory Records. Their 1980 debut, produced by Martin Hannett, highlighted Vini Reilly’s delicate, reverb-laden guitar and early use of synthesizers.
The Return of The Durutti Column marked the beginning of a five-decade career in which The Durutti Column quietly became one of Manchester’s most influential acts.
