Static Flow

Static Flow

Fragment (FRAG 1)

2x Vinyl 12" 33 ⅓ RPM Stereo

Release date: Jan 1, 2025, UK

Studious and rudely effective breakbeat rave reflux from incognito Dutch source, channeling classic Frankie Bones, Joey Beltram, How & Little, Dave Angel or Catt Records in a slew of class club workouts

The spirit of 1990/91 lives on in Static Flow’s faithful take on that period just between early rave and full on breakbeat hardcore mania, when elements of early Detroit and NYC freestyle electro met Belgian rave, Chi acid and UK breaks ’n bass.

It’s the sort of stuff that Frankie Bones might have rattled to 20k pied-eyed ravers on a 10k Turbo sound rig near the M25, but also may have propelled barefoot sand stompers in Goa, or got the cowie jaws going in a Frankfurt hangar - basically some proper mean rave traction with red attention to the details that made it work in the first place.

Bangers, all of them, from the shark-eyed early darkside pressure of ‘Pulse’ to the 808 State-Indebted acid breakbeat slammer ‘Cubic’, to the sort of crispy Todd Terry-via-How & Little zinger ‘Formula’, more brooding breaks on ‘No Name’, the rugged depths of ‘Energy Flow’, the 1990 Joey Beltram electro styles of ‘Tribal’ and ‘Code 5’, or Catt Records type of bleep ’n bass tattoo to ‘Frequency 1.’
