The Eminent Jay Jay Johnson, Volume 2 (Classic Vinyl Series)
J.J. Johnson adapted the language of bebop to the trombone winning the admiration of Dizzy Gillespie and Charlie Parker. After playing on Miles Davis’ first Blue Note session, J.J. led several dates from 1953-55 with the likes of Clifford Brown, Charles Mingus, Horace Silver and Hank Mobley that were compiled on The Eminent Jay Jay Johnson, Vol. 2 .
