Alberto Lizarralde – Haizetxe (Hegoa Records)

Previously unreleased material recorded between the mid ‘80s and 90’s by Spanish musician Alberto Lizarralde, who was also one of the founders of the first school of improvisational jazz and contemporary music in San Sebastián in the early 1990s. \n \nUsing sampling, midi sequencing and field recordings as instrumentation and recording to a four track reel to reel tape, his sound echoes the Fourth World exoticism of Jon Hassell, as well as the deeper side of Francis Bebe. Evoking intimate atmospheres shimmering with movement, it’s a remarkable debut that's deservedly introduced Lizarralde's name to a wider audience. \n \n
