Digital Groovers – Definition Of Love/Nothing But The Groove
It’s sometimes hard to fit garage into the hardcore continuum, thanks to its varying other influences such as sped up US house dubs and R&B vocals. Many who found fame in the 2-step scene, however, had come out of hardcore and jungle beforehand. Like hardcore, garage maintained a tension between chart hits and underground white labels, and Digital Groovers fit firmly into the latter. \n \nKaos’s 1989 ‘Definition of Love’ was (and remains) a pirate radio anthem and this remix updated it for the '99 bubbling crew. Cutting up the vocals and adding organ licks, it’s completed by scratches and a Reese-like bassline. On the other side ‘Nothing But The Groove’ is another funky swinger, its time-stretching breakdown nodding to earlier times as cinematic vocal samples recall KMA Productions. \n \nhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M1Tx5N6JbiM&ab_channel=GarageVybez98 \n \nhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qpa2h-ZmGqY&ab_channel=GarageVybez98
